Meet Lantana's Onsite Golf Pro
It’s no secret that the Lantana is one of the most beautiful communities in DFW. Located in the middle of Flower Mound, Highland Village and Argyle, no wonder Lantana is such a desirable place to live. Along with the location, the amenities in Lantana are unlike any other.
One of the greatest amenities in Lantana is the Lantana Golf Club. This 18-hole championship golf course not only has a spectacular view, but it also has its very own Golf Professional onsite, Scott McClinton.
“Lantana is a great community, and the Golf Club is a great club. The golf course is fantastic, the team here is on point, and it’s a great opportunity to be a part of this organization and make my mark.”
This is the answer native Texan, Scott McClinton, gave when we asked him why he chose Lantana. Scott is the Head Golf Professional at Lantana Golf Club and we asked him a few questions to learn more about Lantana’s very own onsite Golf Professional.
Scott grew up in Duncanville, Texas and started playing golf when he was 8 years old. When we asked him why he started playing, his answer was:
“I wanted to be like and with my dad. He was a terrible golfer (lol), but I enjoyed so much being around him. He was a great father who taught me great lessons about life. He was a tremendous example of how to be a good father, friend, and person and golf was a great means to do some of that.”
While attending UT Arlington, Scott was already working in the golf industry. While he told us he was proud to have earned his distinction as a PGA Professional, he said:
“My family is my greatest accomplishment. Married to my wife Jana for 24 years, father to my 16-year-old daughter Sydney…I am so blessed to have such a loving and wonderful family.”
Scott told us about how passionate his family is about sports. He loves to watch his daughter play Varsity volleyball for her high school, and also complete the family “sports bucket list,” which includes attending many different sporting events.
